McMullen County,“The Free State of McMullen County”. McMullen County is located in the heart of the brush country with the Tilden community serving as its county seat which is approximately 80 miles south of San Antonio. McMullen County has a great reputation for its’ outdoor recreation opportunities which include hunting, wildlife viewing and fishing on the famed Choke Canyon Lake. With a population of approximately 870 and 1140 square miles, it represents a rural county with a country lifestyle.
